The Susquehanna Waldorf School seeks to develop a culturally and economically diverse school community. Our school is a non-sectarian school and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, religion, national or ethnic origin in its admissions or educational policies.

Our school is designed to meet the needs of children with an average and above average range of intellectual, emotional and physical needs. We are happy to meet with families to assess whether we are able to meet the needs of any child with special requirements.

Observation Mornings

Begin with a visit to the school. Each month we have observation mornings in which parents can walk through the school and see the children in their classes. A video "Waldorf Education" will also be shown, followed by time for questions and answers. Check our calendar the see when the next observation morning will take place. Call the school at (717) 426-4506 to reserve a date.

Open Houses and Children's Mini Mornings

Parents are also welcome to visit the school on our Open House / Mini Morning dates. During the Mini Mornings you and your Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten age child will have the opportunity to experience circle games, watch a puppet play and/or make a craft. Elementary age kids interested in meeting a teacher or learning more about the curriculum are also welcome to attend. Check our calendar the see when the next open house will take place.

Submit an Application

After a school visit, parents fill out an Admission Application and send it in with a nonrefundable deposit. Any questions are to be directed to the Admissions Coordinator,. A parent interview with the teacher and Admissions Coordinator will follow. The child is also encouraged to meet their new classmates. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children can attend a class for one day. Elementary children can attend for 3 to 5 days.

Teacher's Visit

To finalize the registration process, a contract is signed and the parent receive their welcoming package. At the earliest convenience, the teacher will schedule a visit to talk with the child and parents in their own home.
