☀️Summer trainings have begun and recently som ☀️Summer trainings have begun and recently some of our wonderful grades teachers journeyed to New Hampshire for their Waldorf Grades Renewal training.

Among the Waldorf educators attending the training were second-grade teacher Ruby Hartley, third-grade teacher Alyssa Bolinder, fourth-grade teacher Holly Galvez, sixth-grade teacher Mandela Davis, and seventh-grade teacher Melissa McIntyre. 🍏

“The summer training course has been a wonderful deep dive into the second-grade curriculum and child development,” said Ms. Hartley.

“I’ve found incredible inspiration from both my instructors and peers. Hearing their stories and experiencing guided drawing and painting from a student’s perspective has been truly eye-opening. I’ve gained invaluable experience and resources that I’m excited to bring into my own classroom.”📚⭐️

Through our new ✨Educator Enrichment Fund, ✨ you can help make trainings like this possible for our incredible team of teachers, ensuring the highest quality of education for our students. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, or loved-one of a SWS student, a contribution to the Educator Enrichment Fund is a thoughtful and actionable way to take Waldorf education to the next level. 🌈

✨Why are Waldorf classrooms intentionally stocke ✨Why are Waldorf classrooms intentionally stocked with open-ended and beautiful toys? They support imaginative play! Let’s explore the magic! 🌈

In Waldorf education, open-ended toys crafted with natural materials, like play silks, are more than just beautiful —they spark creativity, imagination, and movement. 💭🎭

From versatile “loose parts” and simple wooden blocks, colorful silks, and weighted knitted animals— simple toys become everything a child dreams up.

Open-ended toys:

🌿 Encourage imaginative play
🌿 Support sensory development
🌿 Invite movement and expression
🌿 Inspire storytelling and role-playing
🌿 Grow with the child—endlessly versatile!

In a world full of noisy toys with one purpose, Waldorf open-ended toys offer endless possibilities. 💫

📣 Exciting news: we have a few spots left in ou 📣 Exciting news: we have a few spots left in our extremely popular early childhood programs 🌱Stepping Stones (ages 2 years, 9 months - 4) and our 🐛 Mixed-Age Kindergarten (ages 3-6).

While we typically have a waitlist for our early childhood programs, we are thrilled to be able to offer limited openings for the fall.🍁

Stepping Stones offers toddlers a beautiful, peaceful and nurturing home-like environment to take their “first steps” into class on their own. Stepping Stones classes offer:

🌈Daily rhythm
🌈Music
🌈Baking
🌈Outdoor time

Mixed-Age Kindergarten classrooms in early childhood give children the opportunity to interact with their peers. Older children provide a model for the younger ones in their more refined social, lingual, artistic, and operational skills, while the little ones help the older children to engage in deeper imaginative play. Our Kindergarten classes offer:

🌈Daily rhythms
🌈Seasonal crafts
🌈Puppet plays
🌈Focus on childhood development
🌈Art and song

This weekend, Susquehanna Waldorf School was honor This weekend, Susquehanna Waldorf School was honored to be one of only two schools represented at Lancaster Pride—a vibrant celebration of love, identity, and community. ♥️💙💜💛💚🧡🩷

Our presence reflects a core value at SWS: that every human being is worthy of dignity, belonging, and joy.

At SWS, we proudly welcome all families and strive to nurture an environment where every child is celebrated for who they are. ⭐️

It was a true delight to reconnect with several alum who stopped by to share how their SWS experience continues to shape their lives. One grad is headed to New Zealand to pursue a Ph.D., and pictured here is Josie Savicky (Class of 2012), currently studying social work at Millersville. Notice any fun tattoos on Josie’s arm?👏🏾

We’re endlessly inspired by how our graduates are out in the world, making it kinder, wiser, and more human.
