2026-27 Financial Aid

Our Financial Aid program is available to families who demonstrate both the need for aid and a commitment to Waldorf education here at SWS. We recognize that life circumstances and discretionary financial choices vary for every family. Each application is carefully considered. Aid is awarded according to the need exhibited and to the extent funds are available.

Financial Aid

Our Approach to Financial Aid

Our Financial Aid program is available to families who demonstrate both the need for aid and a commitment to Waldorf education. We use FACTS Grant and Aid Program for our 3rd party application processor. The application process is simple and secure. There is a $45 charge per family application.

SWS is committed to confidentiality and reviews each financial aid application individually, based on the information provided.  Aid is awarded according to the need exhibited and to the extent funds are available. Our program is funded by tuition revenue, EITC scholarship donations and annually designated scholarship funds.  Applicants who meet the EITC criteria may be supported by our EITC Scholarship Program.

Eligibility Criteria and Program Policies

  • Students in the Grades and Kindergarten students in their final year and full-time in September.
  • Aid is awarded for one year. All applicants must submit an aid request each year.
  • Requests and applications are processed within a four-week timeframe.
  • Any delinquent account that violates the terms of our enrollment contract is subject to a reduction in or total loss of the financial aid.
  • In the case of separate households with two separate payers, each must file a separate application

Current families complete the financial aid process annually as part of the Continuing Enrollment Packet through the FACTS Family Portal. Awards will be included on the Tuition Agreement Form for families to review prior to signing a Continuing Enrollment Packet.

For Prospective (New Applicant) Families:
New families may apply for financial aid through the FACTS Financial Aid Portal after submitting the student application. Doing so allows prospective families to understand their potential financial award before continuing further in the application process.
New student applications and financial aid applications are processed on a rolling basis, according to the date the enrollment application is received. Please notify the Admissions Director if you plan to apply for Financial Aid before proceeding with the application process.

Our Financial Aid Program is overseen by the Financial Aid Committee, a subcommittee of the Board of Trustees. The program is funded through a combination of tuition revenue, designated gifts, and scholarships provided by the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Applicants who meet the EITC program criteria will receive awards from those specific funds.

In some cases, the Financial Aid Committee may request a meeting with a new applicant to better understand their circumstances. These interviews will be scheduled after all required documentation has been submitted. For returning families, interviews may also be arranged at the discretion of the Committee or upon the family’s request.
