Our hallway is adorned with these captivating pain

Our hallway is adorned with these captivating paintings of Jigonhsasee, the revered Mother of Nations, lovingly created by our talented 8th-grade class. 🎨

As our 8th graders dive into their History block, "This Country of Ours," they embarked on an enlightening journey into the rich tapestry of our nation's past, with a particular focus on Native American culture and history. On day two, their exploration centered around the remarkable figure of Jigonhsasee and her pivotal role in the formation of the Great Law of Peace, which laid the foundation for the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, also known as the Iroquois Confederacy or the Six Nations.

The Haudenosaunee Confederacy stands as a beacon of inspiration, being the world's oldest continuous democracy. It's a testament to the enduring strength of unity and cooperation among diverse Native American communities, and it served as a profound model for the development of the United States Constitution.

Through these incredible paintings and their historical studies, our 8th graders are not only celebrating the legacy of Jigonhsasee but also gaining a deeper appreciation for the enduring principles of democracy that continue to shape our nation, while honoring and respecting the rich Native American culture and history that is an integral part of this land. 🌟 #Jigonhsasee #EducationInProgress
