Boat Day!! SWS Kindergarteners made wooden boats a

Boat Day!! SWS Kindergarteners made wooden boats and their parents/caregivers joined them as they floated the boats along the creek for Boat Day, an annual tradition that sends our Kindergarteners off for summer vacation. It's always a joy-filled day! ⛵️🌀💚

Class 3 presented their shelter projects to their families and peers last week! 3rd-grade shelter projects are a long-standing tradition at SWS. 3rd grade is a "doing" year. They farm, they build a class project (this class built a picnic table!), they build shelters, and much more. All of which help them transition from a young child to an older, more self-sufficient being. Wonderful work class 3! 🛖🏠💚🌀

SWS 7th grader, Bija, created this beautiful chalk drawing as the class begins their Africa block! Chalk drawings are a big part of the Waldorf classroom and are typically done by teachers, making this extra special! It's inspired by a chalk drawing done by a teacher named Karina Yazima at the @liveoakwaldorfschool in California. 🦁🦁🦁

THE PENTATHLON!! SWS 5th-grade students visited @kimbertonwaldorfschool for the annual Pentathlon last week! Games included Javelin, Discus, Long Jump, Racing, and Greek Wrestling. This is a Waldorf tradition that weaves into their studies of Greek history. Well done Class 5! 🌀💚🌀

The Golden Knights Club (aka rising first graders)

The Golden Knights Club (aka rising first graders) gathered with the 7th-grade class this morning for a very special set of games! Each Golden Knight received a 7th-grade buddy and they did a wheelbarrow and three-legged race; they balanced an egg on a spoon; and dressed each other up in capes and hats. It was a sweet, silly, and exciting time for all! Both classes can't wait to be 1st and 8th-grade buddies next school year! 💚🌀💚
