We got to know our SWS family a bit better last we We got to know our SWS family a bit better last week during the DEI Heritage Potluck! 🥣

Families in our school community generously shared a dish that represents their heritage as well as stories and photos of the loved ones who inspired the beloved meal. Families and friends gathered over games to enjoy the spread and share in the joy that we find each day here at the school by the river. It was an inspiring afternoon of community, connection, and delicious dishes!

Here at SWS, we believe in celebrating the rich cultures that weave together the diverse tapestry of our school community. 💚

Our Stepping Stones students were treated to a swe Our Stepping Stones students were treated to a sweet Spring surprise - just hatched baby chicks! 🐣

SWS parent and alumna Selena McIntyre brought her week-old hatchlings to visit our students. Our little learners used their gentle hands to greet their new friends and offer them a snack, all while learning about how to care to baby chicks and how eggs get their color. Hands-on learning is extra fun with fluffy friends!🐥

Thank you Selena for an extra-special Springtime lesson!🌷

We are filled with gratitude for everyone who join We are filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us to celebrate the support of Susquehanna Waldorf School at our inaugural Donor Dinner last night! ✨ It was a joyful evening of fun, connection, and community.

We also want to extend heartfelt thanks to all of our donors who were honored during the evening but were unable to attend. Your generosity helps sustain our school and strengthens the opportunities we can offer our students each day.

A special thank you to the wonderful team at Perry Street Cellar @railroadhouseinn for hosting such a beautiful and welcoming event.

Our community continues to grow through the generosity, care, and shared vision of so many people. Together, we are nurturing a school where children can learn, grow, and flourish through the richness of Waldorf education. We are deeply grateful to be on this journey together. 🌿

🎥 Thank you @remaxnathan for capturing the spirit of the evening in this fantastic video.
When lessons are immersive, students go beyond mem When lessons are immersive, students go beyond memorization. They develop curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. 📚✨

Recently, our 5th graders wrapped up their study of Ancient Egypt and invited other classes to join them for a special sharing day. This allowed our students to step into the role of teacher, presenting what they had learned and bringing history to life for their peers.

They prepared recipes inspired by Ancient Egypt, demonstrated their own creative designs, displayed beautiful art projects, and confidently shared their knowledge of this fascinating period in history. 📜

By inviting younger students to attend, our 5th graders were empowered to share their understanding, strengthen their public speaking skills, and experience the pride that comes from teaching others. Moments like these build confidence, deepen learning, and help knowledge truly take root.

This is learning the Waldorf way: lessons that come to life, spark joy, and ignite curiosity. 💚 At SWS, education is about more than imparting information; it’s about nurturing capable, confident students who are inspired to become lifelong learners.
