This year’s May Day and Grandparents and Loved Ones Day celebrations were a beautiful reminder of what makes SWS so special: community, tradition, and our deep connection to the natural world. 🌸🌷

From joyful songs and vibrant dances around the Maypole to heartfelt moments shared with cherished loved ones, the day was filled with warmth, wonder, and the spirit of renewal. These seasonal celebrations help root our students in rhythm and meaning, offering a sense of belonging and continuity across generations.

Thank you to all of our students, staff, and families who helped make this beloved tradition come alive. It’s always a joy to gather in celebration—and May Day holds a truly special place in our hearts. 💚

Our 6th graders took their learning to new heights—with a journey to New York City! 🍎

Waldorf education emphasizes experiential learning and class trips offer students an immersive and exciting opportunity to do just that! ⭐️

During their time in the city, students visited world-class museums, attended a live performance of “The Lion King”, and explored some of NYC’s most iconic landmarks. 🗽 Along the way, they built lasting friendships and deepened their sense of independence and curiosity.

A heartfelt thank you to their class teacher, Melissa McIntyre, and the wonderful parent chaperones whose dedication, care, and enthusiasm made this trip both safe and unforgettable. 💚

🎭Class plays are a special tradition in Waldorf education and offer students to combine curriculum, art, and social-emotional skills. In producing and performing their plays, students challenge themselves, call upon their courage, and build confidence as they share their hard work with classmates and families.
