🍂 Every fall, our 2nd through 8th graders gather the whole school together to share something they’ve been working on - songs, recitations, movement, small glimpses into what they’ve been studying all season.

This year’s Harvest Assembly is Friday, October 30th, from 8:45 to 10:00 am in the gym, open to all SWS families and the people who love your students.

If you can get there a little early, stop by Williams Hall from 8:15 to 8:45 for coffee, tea, and conversation before it begins.

❄️Winter Faire is coming Sunday, December 6, from 11 am to 3 pm at Susquehanna Waldorf School.

Join us indoors and out for handmade gifts from local makers, music, wholesome children’s crafts, hot food and homemade treats. Children can visit the Secret Shoppe to choose gifts for the people they love.

🧄Locally Seasoned (@locallyseasonedyorkpa): Small-batch chutneys, preserves, spice blends, vinegars, syrups and other pantry goods made with seasonal, local ingredients.

📚 Rosie Taylor Books: Author Rosie Cappiello Taylor brings nine books, from inspirational reads to youth fantasy and cozy mysteries.

🍯 Dark Hollow Biodynamic (@darkhollowbiodynamic): Biodynamically raised wool, raw honey and other handcrafted goods from their small family farm.

💎 Knotting Tides (@knottingtides): An interactive charm bar where you design your own bracelet or necklace from a collection of meaningful charms.

🕯️ Lancaster Wax Co. (@lancasterwaxco): Hand-poured soy candles, wax melts and car diffusers.

🖼️ Rachel Elizabeth Fine Art (@ralizhoffman): Original paintings and drawings, along with prints and stickers of her work.

🎨 Mimi’s Watercolors: Watercolor paintings, fine art photography and related pieces.

🐻 Mama Made: Handmade amigurumi, children’s loveys and sweet little hats.

🧶 Little Farm Yarn: Knit and crocheted squishies, horses and gnomes in wool or cotton, filled with organic fleece from their own sheep.

🫖 DAIS Superstar Crafters: Student-made teacup bird feeders, button trees and ornaments.

🪵 Red Barn Gallery: Hand-carved spoons, bowls, chess pieces, benches and hammered copper, made from local or recycled wood, plus glass twists made from broken window glass.

When parents look for a school, safety is usually near the top of the list - secure doors, supervision, emergency plans in place.

But there’s another kind of safety families think about too, even when they don’t call it that: will my child feel known here? Will there still be room for them to be a child?

At Susquehanna Waldorf, we think about safety that way too - small classes where children are truly known, a pace that doesn’t rush childhood, and a rhythm to the day that lets kids know what to expect and trust where they are. 🤍
