Our community came together for a Tamalada, a tamale-making celebration sponsored by our 4th-grade class.

Heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers who lovingly crafted tamales, and to everyone who placed an order in the fundraiser. Your generosity goes a long way in helping make the Class of 2030’s future field trips possible. ⭐️

Long before smartphones and virtual reality, Waldorf education recognized that children develop resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation through meaningful work with their hands. 👋

Handwork, Practical Arts, farming, baking, painting, these are not “extras.” They are essential. 🧶🧵

While technology has it’s place in education, it is not the be all, end all answer to educating our children. At SWS, our students spend their days drawing complex geometric shapes, exploring color theory using watercolors, developing motor skills through knitting, and sharpening essential skills in problem solving, planning, and resilience through wood working.

The Valentine Fairies visited our Grades to help students choose their All-School Valentine. Each year, Grades students create one extra special handmade card for a student in another grade, nurturing community, connection, and compassion across ages.
