What a wonderful summer at Susquehanna Waldorf School Adventure Camp! 🌈

We wrapped up our summer camp series with Treasure Camp and what a treasure it was! Our campers spent their days crafting treasure boxes, searching for treasure along the river banks, and soaking in the final days of summer. ☀️

✨ Growth in leadership begins with a commitment to lifelong learning.

At Susquehanna Waldorf School, we believe that investing in our faculty and staff strengthens our entire school community. This summer, Krista Bieniek completed Administrative Leadership training, further expanding the knowledge and skills she brings to our school each day.

We’re also excited to share that Krista’s title has changed from Pedagogical Chair to School Administrator, a title that more accurately reflects the breadth of the work she has been doing for years. In this role, she provides leadership in both the pedagogical and administrative life of the school while continuing to serve as our dedicated Resource Coordinator, supporting students, teachers, and families.

Continued professional development ensures that our educators continue to grow, collaborate, and bring their very best to the children in our care. We are grateful for leaders like Krista whose dedication helps our school community flourish. 💚

Children understand the world most deeply when the

Children understand the world most deeply when they experience it with their whole bodies. Feeling the cool air on their skin, noticing the texture of tree bark, watching a seed grow into a plant. These moments are not extras to learning. They are the foundation of it.

In the outdoor classroom, lessons come alive. A science concept becomes visible in the changing seasons. A story finds meaning in the landscape around it. Even the simplest discoveries, a worm in the soil, a pattern in the clouds, can spark wonder and inquiry.🌱🐛

💚 Service Week at Adventure Camp 💚 Service Week w

💚 Service Week at Adventure Camp 💚

Service Week was filled with kindness, generosity, and finding joy in helping others.

During circle time, we explored what it means to be a good neighbor, friend, and family member through stories and conversations about kindness and service. Throughout the week, campers put those ideas into action by picking up litter along the river, baking fresh bread to share with our Middle School STEAM campers and administrative staff, and creating beautiful beeswax-painted river rocks to brighten our gardens. Some children even made “Kindness Jars,” filling them with thoughtful ideas for serving those around them.

Of course, there was still plenty of wonder to be found! Tiny toads along the river reminded us to practice gentleness and care as we briefly observed them before returning them safely to their homes.

To end the week, our Middle School STEAM campers surprised us with an incredible act of service of their own. While our campers rested, they transformed the playground into an exciting water park filled with sprinklers, slides, digging stations, and endless fun. The children’s delight was the perfect reminder that acts of kindness have a wonderful way of coming full circle.

What a beautiful week of caring for one another, our community, and the world around us. 💚
