SWS: where core memories are made. 💚 As we prepar SWS: where core memories are made. 💚

As we prepare for the coming school year, we have been reflecting on a sweet memory of our last: the end of year Middle School trip! ⛺️ Our 6th and 7th grade classes completed their school year with a trip to Heritage Creek Farm Camp. At HCFC, the students set up tents, helped prepare meals, participated in medieval-themed activities, and then took part in the Medieval Games on their final day. ⚔️🛡️

Over the three days, students worked on building a trebuchet, wood-burned their own medallions, designed their Coat of Arms, practiced archery, and made new friends with a homeschool group that joined in on the fun.

This special end-of-year event would not have been possible without the amazing teachers and staff at HCFC. Thank you to Farmer Cindi! We are sure our students will hold this trip in their hearts for years to come.

Special treats this week included delicious chocolate peanut butter rice krispies! What a joy-filled week!

The first school experience shapes how children fe The first school experience shapes how children feel about learning for years to come. Our warm, nurturing classrooms provide a safe, joyful environment where children develop confidence, independence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. 🌱🐛🍄

Here at SWS, childhood isn’t rushed. Instead, we honor this precious time. Research consistently shows that rushing academic instruction in the early years does not produce lasting advantages. ⭐️ In fact, excessive academic pressure can increase anxiety, reduce intrinsic motivation, and shape children’s beliefs about themselves as learners. Waldorf education protects the time children need to build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning before formal academics intensify. 📚

We’ve slowed down the pace and have anchored ourselves in what is most important: our students. Rather than asking children to adapt to school, we create a school that meets children where they are—and helps them flourish. 💚

💭Unsure if your child is ready for a full day program? Every child grows differently, which is why we offer flexible beginnings with 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedules, as well as half- and full-day options. Families can choose the rhythm that best supports their child while enjoying tuition that remains competitive with many local early childhood programs.

Susquehanna Waldorf School: the School by the Rive Susquehanna Waldorf School: the School by the River.

Throughout the year, you will find us exploring the river banks, jumping in puddles, sliding down muddy hills, and investigating local flora and fauna. 🌱🐛

From the start of fall as the leaves 🍂 begin to change hue, to the deep winter as the shoreline is blanketed in white ❄️, to the first buds of spring 🌷, we take to the river to learn and spend time in nature, the way childhood was meant to be spent.

Step into the world of Waldorf, where the boots are muddy and hearts are full. 💚 Schedule your tour today! 👉 Link in bio.
